Farming is a central part of Brecon and Radnorshire’s life blood, providing livelihoods and food on the table locally and nationally. However, our farming sector undoubtedly faces challenges and since Fay was elected in 2019, she has sought to champion farmers at every turn.
This means putting farmers interests at the forefront of debates and urging policy makers to let farmers do what they do best – farm. Fay has 11 years of valuable experience working on behalf of Welsh farmers, whether that’s in farming policy or throughout her time as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, or through her establishment of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Farming.
For Fay, mental health is absolutely central as well as ensuring farming families are able to access every possible support as the farming sector transitions out of the European Union. Ultimately, supporting this rural life as well producing fantastic British food and stewarding a thriving countryside in turn underpins Brecon and Radnorshire's tourism sector.
