Fay Jones MP has expressed her concern at the establishment by the Welsh Labour government’s chair of the National Infrastructure Committee of a petition to ban meat.
This comes after bans on certain meal deals and an increasing number of fringe policies such as blanket 20mph zones.
Fay is calling for the Senedd to urgently review the Chair’s position and distance themselves from these comments.
Fay said:
“Our meat industry is absolutely vital to the economy of Wales and particularly of Brecon and Radnorshire. Naturally, diet is a matter of personal choice, but banning meat is an extreme step and should have no place in government.
I therefore call for Welsh Labour to distance themselves urgently from the Chair’s comments and review their position.”
