Fay Jones MP has attended a reception for Back British Farming Day in Number 10 Downing Street, having the opportunity to introduce local farmer Rob Lewis, from Glanelan outside Rhayader, to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
Fay said:
"I’ve always promised to make sure politicians in Westminster listen to Brecon and Radnorshire farmers. So it was a privilege to introduce Rob Lewis from Glanelan outside Rhayader to the Prime Minister yesterday, on Back British Farming Day.
I couldn’t resist telling the PM about Rob and Audrey’s son Gethin who has had a phenomenal summer shearing and is now Welsh champion sheep shearer.
Even though this Prime Minister understands more about farming than most, it’s critical that politicians hear directly from those at the sharp end of welsh farming."
