During his statement in the House of Commons on COVID-19 strategy, Fay Jones MP asked the Prime Minister to confirm that changes to lockdown announced over the weekend are not ""a green light for tourism or to visit second homes" here in Brecon and Radnorshire.
Both the Prime Minister and the First Minister for Wales have announced changes to lockdown measures in England and Wales respectively. The changes differ from Wales to England, with the main changes in Wales being that people will be able to exercise outside locally more than once a day and some garden centres will be allowed to reopen.
The Prime Minister said that Miss Jones was "completely right" and that "we do not want to see people—let me repeat: we do not want to see people —travelling to another home for a holiday or to a second home".
Miss Jones said:
"Following the changes announced by both the Prime Minister and the First Minister over the weekend, I would like to reiterate: there is not a greenlight for tourism or for people to travel to their second homes in Wales. Visit Wales later."
