Fay Jones MP recently joined Ysgol Gynradd Gymunedol Pontsenni / Sennybridge Primary School, Eco committee and team members from National Trust Cymru to plant a blossom tree in the grounds of the school’s woodland area.
The planting is part of National Trust Cymru’s Gwledd Y Gwanwyn, Blossom Watch campaign.
The National Trust launched the Blossom Watch scheme as a compliment to Hanami – Japan’s annual celebration of blossom, to celebrate the arrival of spring.
National Trust Cymru is encouraging more people to connect with nature by planting blossom trees in schools, health centres and urban areas across Wales.

“It was lovely to join pupils and the National Trust in Sennybridge to plant a blossom tree in their Forest School area. All the pupils took a turn on the spade and helped tap the tree safely into the ground. It’s going to be such a pretty sight when it blooms in the spring”
