News that Barclays Bank on The Bulwark in Brecon is closing later this year will be deeply disappointing. Fay has spoken to Barclays managers this morning to set up an urgent meeting next week.
There have been a number of bank closures already this year and this is unsettling for many who use the bank regularly.
However, it’s important to recognise that banking is changing. Barclays now needs to ensure it is working with all customers to make sure they are aware of the change and the new ways in which they will be able to access their money. Rather than promise, false hope about retaining the branch, Fay will be working to ensure nobody is left behind.
