Local Decision Making over Wind Farms

There is a wealth of evidence which indicates that tourism in the Brecon and Radnorshire contributes an enormous amount to the Welsh economy.  I am really concerned that over-populating the landscape with wind farms might blight the iconic scenery that farmers in Brecon and Radnorshire have stewarded for generations.  Meeting the Government’s targets for alternative energy solutions is an important goal. But it cannot be delivered with no thought as to the natural environment.  As your Member of Parliament, I will be the voice of Brecon and Radnorshire to the Welsh Government particularly in consultations like the National Development Framework 2040 – ensuring debacles such as Hendy - where local concerns were overruled - can never happen again.
