Fay Jones MP has congratulated James Evans on his selection as the Brecon and Radnorshire Conservative candidate for the 2021 Senedd election.
As a Powys County Councillor, who previously held the housing, planning and economic regeneration cabinet portfolio, James has already been involved in the Regional Economic Steering Group and has led on the delivery of the Mid Wales Growth Deal. James also helps manage a family farming business and works for the County Landowners Association.
In his role as a Councillor for Gwernyfed and cabinet member for Powys County Council, James Evans and Fay Jones MP have already worked together closely on a number of constituency issues. The photo featured shows James and Fay at bingo in Llanigon in 2019.
James Evans’ priorities include encouraging tourism and diversification of the rural economy, working for a fairer system for Business Rates to ensure our high streets prosper, making sure residents get the public services they require and building more houses so our young people can stay and work in the area.
Commenting on James Evans’ selection, Fay Jones MP said:
“Huge congratulations to James Evans on his selection as Welsh Conservative candidate for Brecon and Radnorshire in the 2021 Senedd elections.
“James knows the constituency inside and out; he has a track record of representing the people of Powys and we share a passion for protecting and improving our rural way of life.
“With a Conservative Member of the Senedd, we can raise the profile of Brecon and Radnorshire and ensure that mid-Wales is no longer neglected by a Labour/Liberal Democrat Welsh Government.
“I look forward to campaigning with James to turn Brecon and Radnorshire blue in the Senedd 2021 election.”
