Access to better broadband and phone signal is vital for residents and businesses across our rural area. My priority is to work with BT and Openreach and bring all parties to the table to understand the barriers to high speed broadband and identify solutions. I am actively tackling the large mobile not-spots in Brecon and Radnorshire by keeping up the pressure on the UK Government’s Shared Rural Network.
As your Member of Parliament, Brecon and Radnorshire will not be left behind. On a visit, Robert Jenrick, Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government announced that there will be one billion pounds invested to improve connectivity, new masts shared by providers and increased geographical coverage from today's 66% up to 95%.
I want to see the UK and Welsh governments taking an imaginative approach to rural services; Brecon and Radnorshire needs better public transport options to underpin our tourism economy and we should not have to suffer second rate public services just because we don't live in a city.
